best eyes

since i seem to be delaying the inevitable mental and physical crash that usually hits me at about this time every night.... here's one more post for grins.

i found this attached to an old kj&r email and it made me so happy.  it also reminded me that i still have not watched the last 6 hours of the final season.  i know, i know.  how can i call myself a true 24 fan?  i swear i am.  life just got in the way at the end of the season, and i just know that in order to fully appreciate the finale of this ridiculously awesome show, i really should start from the first hour of jack's last day.  i just don't have that kind of time right now ("chloe!  we're running out of time!  hundreds of thousands of people could die!  d*mn it!").

but who am i kidding?  what i really want to do is start from the first hour of jack's first day ("on the day of the california presidential primary") and then relive all glorious 8 days of jack bauer kicking butt and saving the world from enemies both foreign and domestic.

can you imagine how awesome that would be?

of course, after watching 192 hours of television, i would have to ask mr. bauer to shoot me himself for wasting away a week of my life.

oh, but what a week it would be....

"What are we doing? Somebody tell me what we're doing!"

I don't even watch this show, but I find this scene absolutely hilarious.

And it's actually a shout-out to this equally hilarious scene from this British comedy.

Hope these clips gave you a good laugh. I know they made me laugh.
And now I have a strange desire to get into a finger gunfight with someone...

"...the new TV season is here for you."

In an email sent to me by J, in response to an email I had sent to J&R, in which I had vented certain frustrations:

"Sniff sniff. Let us know. We're here for you.
And almost as importantly, the new TV season is here for you."

TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN.

The fun begins tonight.

As a point of clarification: I have a self-imposed rule that says I'm not allowed to watch television unless I'm on the treadmill (excluding FOX News and football, of course).  So if all the new shows this season are actually worth watching, I should be running a 10-min mile in no time.

Feel the Burn...

From tonight's episode of Burn Notice:

Fiona: "Someone's getting a little too flirty for his own good."

Michael: "Fi, I'm trying to snatch Kendra off the street and tie her to a chair."
Fiona: "You are not helping your cause."
Michael: "This is just a harmless game of cat and mouse between me and a professional killer!"

and

Fiona: "I wish our phone conversations were as flirty."

Michael: "She threatened to kill me."
Fiona: "I can do that."

I LOVE THIS SHOW.

LOST no more.

Oh. My. Life.

A week and a half behind the rest of the world, I know, but I just watched the series finale of LOST.

I don't think I've ever cried so much over a TV show (or movie, for that matter) in my entire life.

Seriously, it was a constant stream of tears. Intermingled with shouts of frustration and pure delight.

A perfect ending to a perfect show. Totally worth the 6-year investment. I have never had so much fun with a TV show and I doubt any show in the future will be able to compare.

And what made it even more wonderful is that the people who were supposed to be
together finally got to be together.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself next season without my weekly dose of awesomeness.

*And this is why they invented TV on DVD*

Can't wait to start from the beginning. And get LOST all over again...

Thursday, May 6

OH. MY. LOST.

I screamed. I cried. I almost threw the remote across the room.

It took me almost 30 minutes to regulate my breathing.

My dad has some crazy theories, any which of may be true.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when this is all over.

Probably scream. And cry. And throw the remote across the room.

On the Fringe...

Love this show.

I want her hair.

And her gun and kick-*ss job.

And my very own Joshua Jackson, please.

Thank you.

The Silent Clock...

Just caught up on the last three hours of 24 and OH. MY. GOODNESS.
  • He did what?! So noble.
  • He drove off the roof?! Sweet.
  • She thought she could get away?! Not so fast, blondie.
  • He died?!?! That's so sad.
  • He got fired?! Awesome.
  • She got promoted?! More awesome.
  • Finally! That kiss was even more awesomer.
  • He's back?! Evil, little weasel of a man.
  • She died?!?!?! That was soooo depressing.
Other thoughts:
  • Katee Sackhoff plays a great mole. It's all in those shifty eyes and that evil smirk.
  • Necar Zadegan (actress who plays Dalia Hassan) is beautiful. And awesome.
  • Anyone else think Freddie Prinze, Jr. only got better with age?
  • That was probably one of the most tragic death scenes I've ever seen on television.
  • But now you know that the last 7 hours of the *whole series* will be absolutely awesome because Jack is MAD and ON A MISSION - just the way I like him! Jack is back, baby! Let the game begins!
And finally... The Russians! It's always the Russians!

TV to the rescue...

So it's already been acknowledged that I watch way too much television.

But here are two (relatively) new shows that I just can't get enough of: Southland on TNT and Justified on FX, both on Tuesdays 10/9pm.

A great cop show for someone who doesn't watch cop shows.

And a great modern-day western starring the delicious Timothy Olyphant.

Seriously. So much fun.

WANTED: 6 Hours...

Single White Female seeks 6 hours of free time in order to catch up on 3 weeks of 24 and 3 weeks of LOST.

Must have completed all school responsibilities and church responsibilities. Preferable that the house be cleaned and organized.

Must be willing to endure my random and frequent outbursts. Be aware that objects might fly across the room if my frustration level reaches new heights.

Must not get jealous if I gush about the awesomeness of my two Jacks (Jack Bauer and Jack Shepherd).

Above all, must be 6 hours of total relaxation and TV-induced bliss.

Please submit applications as soon as possible.

Smooth Criminal...

I think I'm going to like this show:

(from the Pilot)
Peter: You are way out of your league.
Neal: Oh, harmless flirting! It's like a dance.
Peter: No, there is no dance. You're not even on her dance card. No dancing for you.

"Don't Stop Believin'..."

I'll admit it.  I am way excited for this show to start in the fall.

For all of us who spent our high school career in the choir room, warming-up to "open-pit-barbecue-sauce", learning how to properly pronounce "in excelsis deo", figuring out who was breathing when, realizing the importance of blending, competing for coveted solos, coming up with four minutes of choreography, taping duct tape to the bottom of your shoes, wearing bright pink lipstick, humming show tunes... or for anyone who just really enjoyed a good jazz square back in the day, I have a feeling that this show is for us.

Long Live the Alto Section!

The Daily Line-up...

So I know I said I wouldn't be posting anything political on this blog....but I just might have to take that back. There is just so much going on in the world, and especially in our nation, that I have to be able to voice my thoughts (and frustrations) in some type of forum or else I just might go crazy.

Today, though, I want to share with everyone my new love: FOX NEWS. That's right, I am a conservative and I watch FOX News. For the past two weeks I have fallen into the most wonderful routine of coming home from class and basking in the wonder that is political news and commentary. Fascinating stuff. My daily line-up:

Glenn Beck

Special Report w/ Bret Baier

I'm also a fan of FOX Report w/ Shepard Smith and Hannity. I usually don't get up early enough to watch FOX & Friends in the morning, but they are also really enjoyable. But right now my daily shows are Beck and Baier. And for the record: I think Bret Baier is the greatest anchorman ever. For some reason he is just really fun to watch. And he's kind of cute...

"A tear must have formed in my eye..."

"...when you had your first kiss."

Here's another amazing song from a great new band (haven't heard enough of their music to say that they are amazing!), with an amazing fanvid of HBO's John Adams. The credit for this one goes to Joanna - she fell in love with the book over Christmas break and absolutely loved the mini-series. I have yet to read the book or watch the series, but just watching this video makes me tear up, so I know that when I finally get around to it, I will love them as well. Again, listen to the lyrics of the song - they are so beautiful and moving!

On My Way, by Boyce Avenue

"Villains die and heroes live forever..."

So here's another excellent song from an excellent band, along with an equally excellent fanvid of the most excellent show on television. Credit for the discovery of the band, October Fall, goes to Yours Truly, but credit for the discovery of this awesome song and video goes to Rachel. The video does cut out one of the verses, but if you listen to the lyrics, you will discover what me and mine have discovered - IT'S AMAZING.

Cute and Funny Show...

One of my new favorite "fluff" shows!

(from Episode 111: All About Love, Actually)

Megan: Uh-uh. No, we are not sharing. Wanna know why? Because you are grounded! From all fun things. Including gossip, chit-chat, delightful banter. You are grounded from banter!

(from Episode 114: All About Tough Love)

Sage: So what? Big whoop! Everybody's different... The point is, you promised me a date and I just showed you my kittens in a basket, so I expect something in return! And if you make a dirty kittens joke, I will beat you with this.

Funniest. Show. Ever.

(from Episode 311: Lassie Did a Bad Bad Thing)

Lassiter: Now I need to know your process. How do we get started?
Shawn: You really wanna know my process?
Lassiter: Absolutely.
Shawn: Usually starts with a Holla! and ends with a creamsicle.
Gus: And then, if there's time in between: Thundercats. Hooooo!

(from Episode 312: Earth, Wind and... Wait for It)

Gus: And they don't even have a Dalmatian here, Shawn!
Shawn: Would you stop with the Dalmatians already?
Gus: I'm just saying, it would be nice to see one in it's natural habitat.
Shawn: They're not indigenous to firehouses, Gus.
