Yes, I am this ridiculous...

So apparently the official New Moon trailer comes out today... and maybe I've been checking YouTube every fifteen minutes to see if someone has leaked it... and maybe I came across this video and laughed my head off... and maybe I realize that I am a little fanatical when it comes to these books/movies... and maybe I'm a little embarrassed to admit all this... and maybe I now realize that it is videos like the one below that help me to understand that this is all just a LOT of ridiculousness... and maybe I should spend my time on more meaningful pursuits... and maybe I should stop acting like a little tween groupie... and maybe I should stop obsessing about finding my own Edward...

BUT THEN AGAIN... MAYBE NOT.

(you can ignore the last 40 seconds or so)

"So does anyone have like a napkin? Or a Band-aid?"

Here we go again...

Seriously, I don't understand why I get so excited over these movies.  The books are so much better.... but I just can't help myself.  It's just way too much fun to act like a little tween and shriek and obsess and jump up and down.  I apologize in advance to whomever I end up seeing this movie with.  I give you fair warning that I won't be able to shut-up or calm down throughout the entire thing (just ask Michelle - she knows!) and there is a good chance that you will leave the theater with bruises (I tend to get physically violent when I'm really excited during a movie).  So, after that revealing and tempting disclaimer, anybody free on November 20?  Hmmm?  Oh, come on!  You know want to see it, too...

And wow.  They are getting really creative with the movie posters.
SA-WOON.

The book is better...

(cool fan-made poster, huh?)

Not that there was ever a question of the movie even being comparable to the book....but yeah, the book was better. I won't make a list of the things they got wrong (the story starts at the end of January, not in March), the things they changed (that is NOT the reason she went to Port Angeles), the things that were just completely ridiculous (umm, was there no supervision for the make-up people? I think they went a little crazy with the powder. And don't even get me started about the flying-through-the-trees thing...), and the things that were absolutely MASSACRED (ahem, THE MEADOW SCENE!!!!). I will say, however, that it was an enjoyable movie. The Edward and Bella that I created in my head are much better actors, but I still did enjoy seeing Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart bring them to life on the big screen.

It's probably not really fair, though, because for someone like me who discovered Twilight way back in 2005 (all the credit for that discovery goes to J&R, of course!) and has literally read the book about 20 times, I know down to the detail of what Bella should be wearing in each scene (the first time she meets the Cullens? Yeah, she's supposed to be wearing a dark blue blouse and a brown khaki skirt, not a green shirt and jeans). So it was expected that I would be disappointed at their re-telling of the story. And of course, the first time I saw it, I was comparing everything to the book, so whenever I get around to seeing it again, I will be able to watch it for the sake of the movie and not necessarily for the book.

But again, it was a fun movie. And I do have to give a shout-out to my dear friend Michelle, who suffered through the embarrassment of seeing the movie with me on opening day. Yes, I was tad bit excited. Yes, I was sort of squealing even before the movie started. Yes, I kind of clapped when they first introduced the Cullens in the lunchroom. Yes, I cheered for Stephenie Meyer's cameo. Yes, I'm sure she wanted to disown me by the end of it....and for that I love her!

And if nothing else, what has this whole experience taught us? Anyone, anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Lyrics: "Never Think" by Rob Pattinson

To the best of my listening and analyzing abilities, this is what I have come up with for the lyrics to "Never Think" by Rob Pattinson, featured on the Twilight movie soundtrack. They could be completely wrong, but to me they make sense and seem to fit within the context of the book/story/movie. Enjoy!

Just never think
What’s in your heart?
What’s in our home?
It's all I want

And you’ll learn to hate me
But you still call me baby
Hold on
Just call me by my name

And save your soul
Save your soul
Before we’re too far gone
Before nothing can be done

Trying to decide who I am
Shall I show her who I am
Ain’t got no fight in me
And this whole damn world
Telling you to hold off
Choose to hold on

It's one thing that I know
Once I put my coat on
And I know it’s all wrong
She's standing outside, holding me
Saying “Oh, please, I’m in love”
I’m in love

Girl, save your soul
Save your soul
Before we’re too far gone
And before nothing can be done

Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
Hold on
Without me you got it all

Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on

If the soundtrack is any indication...

...the movie is going to be AMAZING*.

Even before being on the soundtrack, "Supermassive Black Hole" from Muse was an awesome song and now it is even cooler. I also love the the Linkin Park track, "Leave Out All the Rest." Collective Soul is a '90s classic, so of course I love any of their songs. I am still trying to decide if I like the tracks by Rob Pattinson (aka Edward Cullen). His voice reminds me of a very slurred Damien Rice or Jeff Buckley. I'm having a hard time understanding the lyrics, but I think once I do figure out what he's singing, I'll like the songs ("Never Think" and "Let Me Sign") a whole lot more.

And, for the record, I am in love with Paramore. I think Hayley Williams' voice is so hauntingly beautiful (similar to Evanescence's Amy Lee's voice). And their music is just plain awesome. I mean, songs don't really get any more rock-out-like-crazy amazing than "Misery Business." Both of the songs that they contributed to the soundtrack ("Decode" and "I Caught Myself") are great.

And judging by my reaction to the below music video for "Decode," I think I am going to literally pass out during the movie. I just get too giddy and excited. Like, squealing and gasping and jumping-up-and-down-in-my-seat excited. Sigh.

GOSH DARN IT, EDWARD!
WHY AREN'T YOU REAL?!?!?!

(*I should probably not get my hopes up too high, though, because the last time I fell in love with a movie soundtrack before seeing the movie, I was utterly devastated at how terrible the movie was. It was the soundtrack that introduced me to Evanescence, Saliva and Revis. The movie? Daredevil = ONE OF THE DUMBEST MOVIES EVER MADE. Great soundtrack, but a waste-of-two-hours-of-your-life movie. I am hoping and crossing my fingers that Twilight does not disappoint...at least not too badly. Because, seriously, how can anything be as amazing as the book was the first time you read it, and you first entered the world of vampires and you were introduced to the AWESOMENESS that is Edward Cullen?! Yeah. No movie can ever top that.)

November 21...are you ready?

(It might take a couple of minutes to load, or you might need to refresh the page...but be patient. It's worth the wait.)

And the new movie poster. *Swoon*
