a little of this, a little of that...

  • Mom and Dad came to visit last weekend. Among other things, they helped me rearrange basically all of the furniture in my apartment and WOW. It looks really good now. Those darn couches still need to be recovered, but it definitely looks and feels more homey. So for anyone who finds themselves in Austin (by accident or by design), I love visitors!
  • Contrary to popular belief, treadmills are extremely heavy.
  • While it was kind of a ridiculous game, the Longhorns now have bragging rights until next year's Red River Shootout. Later, Sooners. HOOK 'EM.
  • For the curious masses, Mellow Mushroom is my favorite pizza joint.
  • Even though I always vow to never return, Ikea just keeps pulling me back in! Seriously, those Swedes are tricky little devils.
  • Last night I hosted a small dinner party with some of my lovely friends here in Austin. The Zucchini-Feta Pancakes were a hit. I learned that I am not very adept with the spatula, but I have wonderful friends that will step in and make up for my shortcomings.
  • Thank you, Mr. Matthews, for having such an awesome band and making such beautiful music. Hearing you play Typical Situation live and unplugged on your 2002 tour remains one of the highlights of my concert-going life.
  • Why is The Vampires Diaries so much fun to watch? Seriously. So. Much. Fun.
  • In the past two weeks I have managed to undo two months worth of hard work (exercise) and restraint (eating healthy). *Rubs hands together* Here we go again!

  1. Katie! I've been a slacker reader for months now, but I had to come comment.

Remember forever ago when you made me read the book Rules of Engagement - that totally made fun of BYU/single adult culture?

The author has done it again. (You probably know this already.) Her new book is called Meet Your Match, and it is hilarious. Just had to tell you. :)

    Love ya!
