11 things.
i am grateful for calluses. this is really from yesterday, but during the the mud run there were a few obstacles that left some of my fellow runners with big nasty blisters on their hands. i looked down at my hands to find no blisters anywhere, all thanks to the little calluses i've built up over the past few months at crossfit. i am proud of my calluses. they make me feel tough.
i am grateful for the hymn be still, my soul. "thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end... be still, my soul: thy god doth undertake to guide the future as he has the past."
i am grateful for the scriptures. "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." (2 nephi 32:3)
i am grateful for sweet potatoes. and even better than sweet potatoes... sweet potatoes fries!!!
i am grateful for christmas music. makes me happy, happy.
i am grateful for comfort food. i accept the consequences that will follow, but for right now i just don't care. it tastes so good.
i am grateful for laughter. other people's laughter, yes; but i truly appreciate it when others make me laugh. feels good to laugh out loud.
i am grateful to be a teacher. i figure it's better to be grateful for the thing i love than to complain about the thing i don't love... which happens to be grading. which happens to be what i will be doing for approximately the next 5 hours.
i am grateful for sundays. time spent at church, with family and friends... it doesn't get much better than that.
i am grateful for countdowns. turkey day break begins in 5 days, people. 5 DAYS.
i am grateful for veterans. to all who have served, do serve and will serve - you have my eternal gratitude and love. i am humbled and inspired by your sacrifice. thank you.
