So there are quite a few things that I want to blog about - my reaction to Twilight, Thanksgiving, the reason girls haul around so much stuff in their purse, my oh-so-adorable nephews, why I CAN believe it's not butter - but all of that is going to have to wait. I have to share this song with someone and maybe, just maybe, they will love it as much as I do...
Mayday Parade,
One Man Drinking Games
Six weeks and 125 iTunes play counts later, I am still obsessed with this song. It is probably one of the most moving songs I have ever heard and it still brings me to tears. Just listen to the lyrics and feel the music, and I dare anyone not to feel heartbroken by the end of it.
BEST. SONG. EVER.
(I realize I probably say this about a lot of things, but if there is ever a time that I am serious about something being the best, this is one of those times.)
And you said it would be funny to keep me hanging in suspense
Then I'd run over to your house and I'd scale the chain link fence
That borders your backyard and then I'd climb through your window
And I'd whisper that I love you as you fall out of your clothes
And we'd lay there in the darkness like the dream of you I had
Where we captured all the fireflies and we knew what time we had
Could be counted on our fingertips, that almost made you cry
But you let me hold you tightly as we said all our goodbyes and...
May I say I loved you more?
May I say I loved you more?
And it must have been an hour that I clutched you in my arms
And I must have said the right things because you instantly felt warm
And you heard my heart stop beating and you wanted not to cry
As your sympathetic whispers, they told a tale of bad goodbyes
And you swore you saw me laughing, and I swore I saw you smile
And this time we've spent together is meant to last us quite a while
As I take this piece of you with me, I'll carry to my grave
Knowing that for someone you're an angel sent to save
(Keep breathing, my angel, if you go down I go with you)
May I say I loved you more?
(Keep breathing, just keep breathing)
(Keep breathing, my angel, if you go down I go with you)
May I say I loved you more?
(Keep breathing, just keep breathing)
Let's drink to memories we shared
Down one to all the hopes and cares
Here's two for being unaware that you're gone
Because before too long you'll be a memory
(Let's drink to memories we shared)
Before too long you'll be a memory
(Down one to all the hopes and cares)
Because before too long you'll be a memory
(Here's two for being unaware)
I said before too long you'll be a memory
(That you're gone, you're gone)
I said before too long you'll be a memory
