Conflicting Emotions

I've been up working on lesson plans, took a break to check Facebook, and saw a post from a friend that Osama Bin Laden has been killed by American military forces.

I don't know why, but this news has filled me with a lot of conflicting emotions.

Happy, sad, relieved, scared, joyful, pensive, hesitant, sorrow, grateful, afraid.

Watching history unfold before your eyes is kind of a surreal experience.  The next few days and weeks will be very interesting.

  1. Apparently, a number of New Yorkers were cheering when he was killed, which is kind of weird/inappropriate to me -- even if he did do things people disagree with . . . :/
